# Deleting your portfolio

Within the platform, you have the option to completely delete the portfolio if you no longer wish to use it.
## Requirements for deletion
The option to completely delete the portfolio is only visible if the portfolio has first been [deactivated](https://help.reconcept.nl/en/article/completing-or-deactivating-your-portfolio-temporarily-18gjnjb/).
## Cooling-off period and permanent deletion
When you choose to delete the portfolio, a seven-day cooling-off period follows. During this period, you can undo the deletion via this same screen. After the cooling-off period, the portfolio is permanently deleted.
Please note: deleting the portfolio is permanent; even we cannot undo this after deletion. Check carefully whether you or your organization still need any content from the portfolio, and consider creating an export first.
## Additional information
### Automatic deletion due to inactivity
After a portfolio has been inactive for five years, it is automatically deleted by us. You will receive a warning before this happens. You can prevent this by having the portfolio activated by an organization at least once during this period.
