The Clinical Competence Committee (CCC)

To simplify the formal assessment of entrustment levels, Reconcept offers a complete workflow for the clinical competence committee or CCC-meeting. The educator can review and assess progress on various skills in a structured manner. This process can optionally include input from other assessors and a self-assessment by the learner.

Starting a CCC-meeting

A CCC-meeting can be initiated by the educator or another user with the authority to grant entrustment statements. You can start a CCC-meeting via the Add > CCC-meeting button or from within an existing interview form. In the latter case, the CCC-meeting is directly linked to that interview. When starting, you select which skills you wish to assess. These can be modified until the first respondent is invited. You will also be asked if a specific type of interview form should be prepared immediately.

Respondents and self-assessment

To gather diverse perspectives, you can invite other assessors as respondents. You can provide specific instructions and decide whether the individual responses from respondents are visible to the learner. If you disable this option, the learner will only see the final report. Respondents receive an action item on their dashboard to submit their feedback. Inviting respondents is optional; if the clinical competence committee meets in person, you can skip this step and proceed directly to the final report. Additionally, you can ask the learner to complete a self-assessment.

The final report and entrustment

Once all feedback is collected, the educator completes the final report. For each skill being assessed, you provide a final judgment consisting of the new formal entrustment level and any comments. To support this decision, the system displays the current entrustment level, any subcompetencies with their current scores, and an overview of recent assessment and feedback moments. The input from all respondents is also displayed. Once the educator signs the final report, the new entrustment levels are processed in the portfolio and the report becomes visible to the learner.

Under the Related Forms tab, you will find an overview of forms connected to this CCC-meeting. This may include individual entrustment statements resulting from the meeting or a linked interview form. From here, you can also start a new interview form, for example, to discuss the results with the learner during a progress review.

Participating as a respondent or learner

If you are invited as an assessor to be a respondent, an action item and notification will appear on your dashboard. Upon opening the CCC-meeting, you will see an overview regarding the learner and the subjects involved. You then navigate to the Your response tab to enter your assessment. For each skill, you will see the current entrustment level, subcompetencies, and recent feedback moments. You then provide your judgment based on your personal experience with the learner. The learner follows a similar process when invited to provide a self-assessment.
