Changing your email address

You can manage and update your email addresses yourself under My Account. In the web environment, you can find these settings by clicking on your initials or profile picture in the top right corner. Select the Change email address option.

Primary and backup email address

Within Reconcept, a distinction is made between two types of email addresses. Your primary email address is the one you use to log in to the platform and where you receive all system notifications. Additionally, you can set up a backup email address. This address serves as a safety net in case you no longer have access to your primary mailbox.

Since you retain your portfolio and account when changing employers, it is wise to link at least one personal email address that you can always access. After all, your professional email address will change with a new job, while your personal address remains the same.

Security during changes

Updating your contact information is a sensitive action. For security reasons, we always ask you to enter your password before you can make any changes. This prevents unauthorized persons from altering your login details.

Additional information

Email address already in use

Sometimes users accidentally have multiple accounts on different email addresses, for example, through a previous employer or educational program. If you receive a notification that an email address is already in use, you can check this by logging out and following the Forgot password steps on the login page for that specific address. If you receive an email, you indeed have a second account.

 

If you have two separate accounts that you want to combine, we can merge them for you. To do this, please contact Reconcept Support [link naar contact artikel]. In your message, mention which two email addresses are involved and clearly indicate which address you want to continue using as your primary login address in the future.

Availability in the app

Please note that the ability to change email addresses is currently only available in the web environment. These options are not yet present in the mobile app.
