Setting up two-factor authentication
You can further secure your account by adding a second authentication step. This limits the risk of your account being compromised if someone manages to obtain your password. You can find these settings in the web environment by clicking on your initials or profile picture in the top right corner and selecting Two-factor authentication.
How two-factor authentication works
With two-factor authentication, you link your Reconcept account to an Authenticator app on your phone. This app continuously generates secret codes that you must enter when logging in. Because these unique codes can only be generated on your own device, we can be certain that it is you attempting to log in.
To use this, you must first install an Authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Your employer may require a specific method or app.
Steps to activate the security
- Enter your password in the settings screen.
- Click on Request QR code.
- Select a security question and provide your own answer. We use this question to verify your identity if you ever lose access to your Authenticator app and need to contact Reconcept Support.
- Scan the displayed QR code with your Authenticator app.
- Your Authenticator app will now show your first code. Enter this in the settings screen to complete the setup.
The next time you log in to Reconcept, you will be prompted to enter the current verification code from your Authenticator app as an extra security step.

Availability
Setting up two-factor authentication is currently only possible through the web environment. These settings are not yet available in the mobile app.
Disabling or changing devices
If you no longer wish to use the extra security, you can disable it in the same settings screen. If you want to use a different Authenticator app or a new device, you can replace the currently linked device. Only one device can be used for two-factor authentication at any given time.
