The individual portfolio

The portfolio in Reconcept is the central location where all of a learner's acquired experiences, assessments, and skills are gathered. It serves as a digital collection of professional development, including the associated statements of proficiency earned during a career or training program.

Portfolio structure

Every portfolio follows a specific structure tailored to the training program or the current career phase of the learner. This setup can align with a local or national curriculum, or it may follow a general Reconcept template, such as the supervisor portfolio. | We use the term learner broadly here. It can refer to someone in training, someone being onboarded, or someone using a portfolio for lifelong learning. Because the portfolio structure is specific to its context, certain components discussed in this documentation might not appear in the portfolio you are viewing, or they might be labeled differently. Therefore, we use general terms in these guides. For instance, we refer to skills rather than more specific terms like EPAs.

Accessing the portfolio

The learner maintains a high level of control over who has access to their portfolio within Reconcept. To learn more about how permissions are managed and who can view specific sections, read more in the section Portfolio access management.

We recommend everyone install the Reconcept app. It provides the best experience for daily use, allowing you to request feedback and record learning moments directly on the shop floor.

App vs. Web Environment

The app is specifically designed for use during your workday. Please keep the following in mind:

Practical Focus: We aim to ensure the app is fully equipped for the tasks you perform daily on the work floor (such as completing forms and viewing your portfolio).
Administrative Tasks: Not all functionalities from the web environment are available in the app. Specifically, administrative and management tasks, such as user management, can only be performed via the web environment.

Available roles in the organization

In Reconcept, various types of roles exist, which can also differ per type of portfolio. In this article, we explain how you can see which roles exist within the organization and what they entail.

Distinction between roles

There is an important distinction between content-related user roles and administrator roles. Content-related roles concern the role users have in the educational process within the organization. | Tip: also read our article on the difference between organization roles and portfolio roles to understand how these two work together.

Basic roles in Reconcept

Fundamentally, Reconcept has a number of basic roles. Depending on the specific setup of the portfolio, variants with different naming may be available. The most common roles are:

Educator: Has full access and the authority to, for example, declare a learner competent. This person often also has an administrator role.
Supervisor (e.g., Internship Supervisor): Has full access for a specific period and the authority to conduct (internship) interviews.
Assessor (e.g., Staff Member): Only has access to their own contributions and is allowed to complete assessments.
Support Staff: Can manage a number of practical matters in portfolios without contributing content. This person often also has an administrator role.

Deleting your account

Accepted Answer

If you no longer wish to use the platform, you have the option to delete your entire Reconcept account. You can find this option in the web environment by clicking on your initials or profile picture in the top right corner and then navigating to Delete account.

Consequences of deletion

Deleting your account is a permanent action. Once you confirm the deletion, all stored data will be lost indefinitely. Please note that the account cannot be restored, neither by yourself nor by Reconcept staff. Therefore, ensure that you have downloaded any important documents or exports from your portfolio before taking this step.

Additional information

Availability

The functionality to delete an account is currently only available in the web environment. This option is not yet present in the mobile app.

Visibility in other users' portfolios

Although your own account and portfolio will be erased, your name will remain visible on assessments, meeting reports, or other forms you have completed in the past for the portfolios of other users. This is necessary to guarantee the integrity and history of the evidence within the portfolios of those learners.
